The Debate is Over

The Debate is finally over. For a long time the big-knife side of fence forced our testers to learn some good techniques with a hatchet and practice daily. After about 5 months of testing found that the amount of time saved using a hatchet is incredible. The testers all used the Colonial Knife hatchet/tomahawk.

The Knife Rights Report

Many state and local regulations prohibit carry of a knife, or any weapon, with "intent to do harm" or some similar restriction. "Intent" requirements in criminal law are typically designed to dissuade law enforcement and prosecutors from harassing honest folks and protect therm by making it difficult to prove criminality on their part, absent an actual crime. However, , they twist the "intent" portion with an absurd interpretation of the law, treating an admission of carrying for self-defense as carry with intent to do harm and thereby illegal. It doesn't matter how much that offends you, asserting that right on the street is a pretty reliable way to find yourself arrested, particular in a major city.

Iowa law Distinguishes between "offensive weapons" and "dangerous Weapons"

" Iowa law distinguishes between Offensive weapons and dangerous weapons"  "Offensive" weapons consist mostly of  machine guns, bombs, and firearms with a barrel that exceeds 6/10 of an inch in diameter.
